The Sun Turned Blue

A 4 track techno ep (30m 22s) — released June 15th 2009 on 54 Music

Alex Caytas and Aleks Patz are two of the three members of Swedish production trio Sour Grapes. Individually they have released on labels such as Nellie Recordings, Noise Music, Dusk Recordings and Point records.
As Sour Grapes Their ground-breaking productions have opened up the ears of names like Eric Prydz, Dave Spoon, Chris Lake, Laidback Luke, Joachim Garraud, Tocadisco and Laurent Garnier. Alex & Aleks turn in a fine slice of hard-grooving tuneful minimal tech here, all stuttering percussion and wiggling bass at first. Beautiful, fragile melodies that evoke the likes of Gui Boratto slowly work their way into the track, accompanied by lush strings, giving it a mystical, spine-tingling edge that works beautifully with the dainty groove. On the remix front there is a stripped-back, deeply dubby excursion from Tony Gomez, a punishing, dark mini-tech throbber from Gun For Hire, and a grunting, heads-down slice of dark room tech house from Kevin Over – making this a package with plenty to choose from. This release will be pushed by our freelance PR agent. Early DJ support from Pezzner M.I.D.I Tomoki Tamura Deepchild SIlicone Soul
